Song History: Published with no author information, this text is often attributed to Dorothy Ann Thrupp. Miss Thrupp was a song collection editor who published many of her own lyrics either anonymously or under a pseudonym. William Bradbury, known for the tune of “Jesus Loves Me,”  set the text to music. 

Only three of the four stanzas are used in this arrangement.
