Never Greatly Moved

When Sunday school teacher Tim Smith went through the loss of his father in 2009, then-high schooler Edith wrote this song as a gift. The wording and music have been polished since then, but the underlying imagery of an Anchor remains in tact.

With Christ as our Anchor, we can have confidence of surviving every storm victoriously and arriving safely to our heavenly harbor. God will still allow storms to overtake us and try us, just as He allowed the storms to overtake the disciples on the Sea of Galilee. But when we keep trusting Him, the storms only deepen our faith, because we find every time that our Anchor is both stedfast and sure. Psalm 62:2, 6
