This Edith Henry original is a tribute to Sunday school teacher and mentor Tim Smith. When Tim went through the loss of his father in 2009, then-high schooler Edith wrote this song as a gift. The words and music have been polished a bit since then, but the underlying imagery of an Anchor remains in tact. With Christ as our Anchor, we can have confidence of surviving every storm victoriously and arriving safely to our heavenly harbor. We will still be battered with waves as storms overtake us, but we can never be greatly moved: for a ship can never be pulled outside the boundaries of the chain that holds it to its anchor. Psalm 62:2, 6.
