Hebrews 11:7—By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
God is not willing that any should perish, and He makes sure that His truth is proclaimed that all may have an opportunity of repentance and salvation. His mercy holds back His judgment for a time, though the judgment will surely come when the time for mercy is past. This piece uses a somber key signature and dramatic vocal ranges to communicate from Noah’s perspective both the weight of the impending judgment and the urgency of receiving salvation. Unbelievers today would do well to heed the warning too–because though the Lord will never again send a flood to destroy the world, He IS going to melt the elements with a fervent heat and create a new heaven and a new earth. NOW is the day of salvation, before mercy is past and the time of judgment has come. An Edith Henry original.
