2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Throughout centuries, believers have found hope in believing the resurrection unto life eternal. We do not mourn as those who have no hope, nor do we need to live in fear of what our end might be or what will follow. Even to martyrdom, believers have no reason to fear death because of knowing that absence from the body brings us present with the Lord.
