God Answered No

2 Corinthians 12:8-9a For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:

Many of today’s so-called “leaders of the faith” urge believers to speak God’s actions into existence through what they call the word of faith. Yet even when we bring our requests to God with sincerity and humility, He is never obligated to us. He answers according to His will, not ours. We must respect the fine line between faith and presumption.

True faith is not believing that God will do whatever we declare, but trusting that He is able to do all things—and that He knows best, even when His answer differs from what we ask. An Edith Henry original.
