Hebrews 11:9-10—By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Like Abraham, Christians are called to be strangers and pilgrims in the earth, setting their affection on things above. Even though Abraham spent a good portion of his life in the Promised Land, he never stopped looking for the heavenly city awaiting him with God. An Edith Henry original.
